:: About
Anthony Berardi holds a diploma in Business Administration and Marketing from Sir Sandford Fleming College. He has been involved in small business his entire life. His family has owned a small business in Peterborough Ontario for over 45 years. Anthony was involved in the family business as a part time employee, full time manager and part owner from 1988 to 2001. Anthony's love for technology started early when in 1991 he was given the duty of upgrading the business computer system. By the time he left the family business in 2001 Anthony was handling all of the marketing and technical functions of the business.
After leaving the family business in 2001 he was hired by the adult education branch of the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board (KPRDSB) to manage a joint Community Access Program (CAP) for both KPRDSB and the Peterborough Victoria Northumberland & Clarington Catholic District School Board (PVNCCDSB). In this capacity Anthony hired a team and lead purchasing, installation and networking of over 50 computer systems in 31 locations across 3 counties. During the winter of 2002 Anthony completed a Software Engineering course at Trent University.
After 6 months managing the Community Access Program Anthony was promoted to Program Facilitator and oversaw the Peterborough offices for adult education and continued to manage CAP.
In the Fall of 2003 TEKDesk, an organization that handles technical support for all Ontario Libraries and Community Access Sites, hired Anthony to manage business development and marketing. As a member of TEKDesk Anthony developed an interactive CD Rom that included a video brochure. He was also part of the team that rebuilt TEKDesk after the devastating Peterborough Flood in the Summer of 2004. Anthony took the lead in assessing and rebuilding the TEKDesk server that was 50% submerged.
Anthony was hired as Supervisor, Tourism Operations for Peterborough and the Kawarthas Tourism (PKT) in the fall of 2004. In addition to his regular duties Anthony rebuilt PKT’s membership database, distribution database and events database. He also developed a conference leads and sport events database. Anthony also served as the back up web administrator for PKT and had a hand in developing some independent websites for a few local organizations including Smith-Ennismore-Lakefield’s PolarFEST, Peterborough & the Kawarthas Sport Council and the Kinsmen Minor Football League (among others). In the winter of 2005 he completed a Database Fundamentals course thorough Sir Sandford Fleming College.
Anthony has served on several Board of Directors including the Trent Valley Literacy Association, Kinsmen Minor Football League, Peterborough & the Kawarthas Sport Council and the Canadian Sport Tourism Alliance. He fully believes in volunteering as a way to give back to the community.
Anthony left his position at Peterborough & the Kawarthas Tourism in the Fall of 2006 to build his vision of a technical and marketing support organization for home and small business. As a result AB Solutions was born.
